My love of real estate started at a very young age!
I consider myself an Oklahoma native even though I have explored all over. I was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Guthrie (where my mom was a real estate agent) until I was 8 years old. My father works for General Motors, so when I was in second grade he was issued his first transfer to Knoxville, TN, and then he was transferred every few years after that so we lived all over Tennessee and North Carolina. I have lived in Chattanooga, Nashville, Charlotte, and Wilmington. My parents also did stints in Greensboro, NC and Southlake, TX when I was an adult before finding themselves right back in Oklahoma, moving to Edmond in 2011. Growing up in the South and on the East Coast was a very cool experience and I am so fortunate to have been able to travel and see so many different places and experience such various cultures.
I think moving around really put the real estate bug in my shoes because looking for new houses every couple years became something I really looked forward to. My mom and I would love to drive around and do the Parade of Homes tours in the various cities we lived in and get design and lay out ideas. [Fun fact: One of the biggest things I have always looked for in homes is where is the Christmas tree going to go!? To me that is one of the most important things. I LOVE Christmas and would have Christmas decorations out 365 days a year if I could.]
Ultimately, I ended up back in Oklahoma in 2005 and have called Norman home since the summer of 2006. I have a one son and 2 daughters (both are angels now but still a very big part of our lives), and a yellow lab named Flash. We enjoy Oklahoma sports, reading, movies, board games, spending time in the kitchen, and ultimately just having a good time with whatever life throws at us each day.
I have a Bachelor’s degree from Wingate University and a Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. I have been a high school English teacher for the last 13 years, and decided to explore my passion for real estate, too, earning my real estate license in 2018. I still love touring homes and showing home to clients. I gain so much inspiration by seeing other people’s decor. It’s like a real life Pinterest board! I am so excited to be on the team at Weichert Centennial to help you with your home buying needs! Please let me know how I can help you sell or buy your new home.
